Two women have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a photographer outside a central Florida home, police reported. Lakevia Davonna Pringle, 31, and Savon Chantay Tyler, 35, were charged in the death of 34-year-old Lauren Ashley Martin, who was shot and killed outside Tyler’s home in Sanford, Florida, according to a police statement released Friday. Police responded to Tyler’s residence on Tuesday around 7:00 p.m. and found Martin “lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds,” Sanford Police Department stated.
Martin was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her family told local news station WESH that Martin, a photographer, had been in a dispute with Tyler over some photographs she had taken. Police investigation indicated that Martin and Tyler had an ongoing argument, which intensified when Martin arrived at Tyler’s residence. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Tyler allegedly shot Martin multiple times.
Authorities added that Pringle was present at the scene and live-streamed the incident on social media. “During the livestream, Pringle can be heard encouraging Tyler to continue the confrontation, which ultimately led to Lauren’s death,” police stated. Police noted that Pringle was uncooperative in attempts to interview her.
Tyler was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with first-degree homicide. Pringle surrendered to authorities on Friday after a warrant was issued for her arrest by Sanford police.
