Microsoft plans to invest an additional $700 million in Poland to bolster the country’s cybersecurity efforts, in collaboration with the Polish armed forces. The announcement was made by Microsoft President Brad Smith during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday.
This investment marks the second phase of Microsoft’s commitment to Poland, following the completion of a $1 billion data center project announced in 2020. The data center, which officially opened in 2023, provides essential cloud services to both businesses and government institutions in Poland, aiming to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.
While further details on the specifics of the cybersecurity enhancements were not disclosed, the partnership underscores Microsoft’s ongoing support for Poland’s tech development and national security. The new funding will play a key role in advancing cybersecurity systems and reinforcing digital safety, a crucial area of focus for Poland amid growing global cybersecurity challenges.
The initiative aligns with Microsoft’s broader strategy to expand its presence in Europe and promote secure, innovative technologies in key international markets.
