A U.S. Army BlackHawk helicopter collided with a passenger jet near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, officials said Wednesday.
Three Army soldiers were aboard the UH-60 helicopter, but their status remains unknown. Officials confirmed that no senior military personnel were on board. The aircraft, based out of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, was on a training flight at the time of the crash, according to Heather Chairez, a spokesperson for the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region.
Authorities are still assessing the situation, and details remain subject to change as more information becomes available.
