Caroline Kennedy urged senators to reject her cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, calling him a “predator” with “dangerous” healthcare views.

The daughter of former President John F. Kennedy accused RFK Jr. of profiting from discouraging vaccinations and lacking the experience needed for the role. President Donald Trump nominated him in November. A spokesperson for RFK Jr. did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Senators will question RFK Jr. on Wednesday before voting on his confirmation. In a video on X, Caroline Kennedy read her letter to lawmakers, saying, “Bobby has gone on to misrepresent, lie and cheat his way through life today.” She emphasized the need for a leader committed to medical advancements.

RFK Jr. denies being anti-vaccine, noting his children are vaccinated. However, he has led the anti-vaccine group Children’s Health Defense and previously claimed no vaccines are safe or effective. He also advocates for removing fluoride from water and reducing pharmaceutical industry influence.

Scrutiny has mounted over RFK Jr.’s financial ties to Wisner Baum, a law firm specializing in drug injury cases. He earns 10% of contingency fees from cases he refers. If confirmed, he would retain this financial interest in cases unrelated to the government.

The Washington Post first reported Caroline Kennedy’s letter.
