Toyota Motor Corp is recalling 106,061 Tacoma four-wheel drive vehicles from model years 2024-2025 in the U.S. due to a potential brake fluid leak, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The issue stems from insufficient clearance between the rear brake hose and the wheel, which can allow mud and dirt to accumulate. Over time, this buildup may damage the brake hose, leading to a brake fluid leak. A leak can reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

To address the problem, Toyota dealers will replace both rear brake hoses at no cost to vehicle owners. The recall is being conducted as a safety measure to prevent potential accidents caused by reduced braking ability.

The NHTSA urges affected vehicle owners to check for recall notifications and schedule repairs promptly. Toyota will contact owners of impacted vehicles with further details.

This recall is part of Toyota’s ongoing commitment to vehicle safety and customer satisfaction. Owners concerned about their vehicle’s status can visit Toyota’s official recall website or the NHTSA’s recall lookup tool using their vehicle identification number (VIN).

For additional information, Tacoma owners are encouraged to contact their local Toyota dealership or the NHTSA hotline.
