Tzitzis began his career at British Telecom (BT), back when digital transformation was still taking shape. “I started over 25 years ago at BT, at a time when the idea of technology reshaping business and society was just beginning to take hold,” he recalls. That early experience opened the door to a career that would take him from large corporations to agile startups. His first executive post—COO of a €300M digital group in Austria—was a key moment, setting the stage for scaling ventures across EMEA, APAC, and the US.
Since then, he’s held senior roles with global players such as Nexign, Amdocs, Tech Mahindra, and Gentrack. Now based in Estonia—his 15th country—he brings a uniquely global perspective to innovation and growth in emerging tech.

Tzitzis has built a reputation for identifying emerging technologies and translating them into real-world impact. “Timing is everything,” he says. “Being early can mean limited traction, while being late means missing the wave entirely.” He cites cyber-physical systems (CPS) as a recent example. Back in 2019, he was already advocating for stronger security in industrial systems. Today, he sees AI-powered CPS as central to the future of automation and risk management.
He tends to focus on horizontal technologies—those with broad, cross-industry potential. “The innovations that excite me most aren’t just solving niche issues—they’re changing how entire sectors operate,” he explains.

Tzitzis approaches leadership with a clear, steady hand. “It’s part sprint, part marathon,” he says. “Success comes from having clarity, empowering your team, and adapting along the way.” He’s known for expecting results, but also for backing his teams with mentorship and support. “If you show initiative and deliver, I’ll always be in your corner.”

AI, Web3, and the Road to Decentralization
To Tzitzis, artificial intelligence is more than just a tool—it’s a new foundation. “AI is a shift in how systems learn, decide, and interact,” he says. He’s especially drawn to its use in finance and healthcare. “In MedTech, AI is helping accelerate diagnostics. In financial services, we’ll soon see autonomous agents running decentralized portfolios.”
But he’s also quick to emphasize the risks. “We need to remove bias, stay compliant, and always maintain human oversight.” Through roles like his ambassadorship with the AI Frontier Network and contributions to the AI for Developing Nations Forum, he’s helping shape a responsible, inclusive approach to AI. “It’s essential that governments and companies work together to prepare the workforce for these shifts.”
Participation Through Tokenization
Another area where Tzitzis sees enormous potential is tokenization. “It’s a way to give users a real stake in the platforms they engage with,” he explains. “Instead of just consuming, they co-own. It’s a more inclusive and resilient model for the digital economy.”
He believes the next generation of platforms will succeed by sharing value, not just extracting it. “That’s how you build trust—and build long-term communities.”
Recognition and Purpose
Though he’s not one to dwell on awards, his peers have taken note. Tzitzis was named the 2025 Financial Services Thought Leadership Award winner, earned the 2023 DX Inspire Global Award for Innovation Ecosystems, and was recognized in the 2021 UK CIO 100. “What matters most is how your work is seen by your customers and collaborators,” he says.
His most meaningful recognition? The chance to contribute to more equitable innovation. “Being involved with the AI for Developing Nations Forum reflects what I care about most: using technology to close—not widen—the opportunity gap.”
Looking Ahead
Tzitzis is keeping a close eye on what’s coming in logistics and mobility. “The EU’s eFTI program will quietly transform logistics from 2027 onwards. It’ll bring real-time digital visibility across borders, which means faster, smarter access to essential goods.”
Ultimately, he believes that progress lies at the intersection of AI, Web3, and cybersecurity—if it’s backed by smart governance. “Done right, this convergence will create more responsive, efficient, and fair systems.”
